Our expert therapy team which consists of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Exercise Physiologists work together to provide effective treatment of work related injuires. In addition, our onsite medical staff stay involved with the clients' therapy on a dynamic, real time basis in order to enhance the therapeutic and recovery process. Our therapy center is outfitted with complete, state of the art equipment which includes treadmills, weight resistive equipment, cycles, cable trainers, sleds, stairs, and a full complement of worksite simulation stations. Our goal is to return our clients to full form and function as soon as possibl

In addition to providing care of injuries, we also provide a complete array of services which are designed to measure function and to prevent injury:

Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)
A Functional Capacity Evaluation is an intensive short term (usually one-day) evaluation that focuses on major physical abilities related to musculoskeletal strength, endurance, speed and flexibility. It is a systemized approach using evaluation instruments whose reliability and validity have been determined through peer reviewed research and are available in the public domain. This evaluation gathers data used to determine physical effort and employability.

There are two common applications for FCE’s:
Baseline Evaluation – On average, 3-4 hours, addressing the full range of baseline physical tolerances
Job Specific – On average, 5-6 hours, addressing physical tolerances in comparison to job task demands.

Work Conditioning Program Details

  • Less than hands-on acute therapy
  • No strong vocational component
  • Usually half-day programs
  • Best for early referrals or referrals with uncomplicated psychological or vocational status
  • Therapist is more coach and teacher
  • Coaching must have specific functional (performance) objectives (goals)
  • Uses exercise, aerobic conditioning, education, and limited work tasks
  • Cost effective for appropriate referrals
  • Less comprehensive than an FCE or work hardening

Physical Demands Assessment

  • Pre-employment assessment that is specific to the physical requirements of a job. The “essential physical demands” that are specific to a certain job. It is customary that an employer will provide us with the job description as well as the physical demands that are expected for this position prior to the assessment.

Fitness for Duty Assessment (Duration: Approximately 60 minutes)
The patient had or currently has a physical problem, and needs to return to some job. This is a targeted functional performance test that is specific to that job. This is an expanded version of the “Physical Demands Assessment”.

Worksite Evaluation Services

Workstation Evaluation (Duration: Approximately 60–120 minutes (assessment & report generation).
A comprehensive analysis of the workstation that is specific to the needs of a particular individual. This format is primarily used for the office setting. It is intended to address the relationship between the worker and his / her environment. The goal of this assessment is to maximize employee safety and optimize efficiency and productivity in the workplace.

Jobsite Evaluation (Duration: Approximately 60-150 minutes (assessment & report generation).
A comprehensive analysis of the work area that is specific to the needs of a particular individual or a group of individuals. This format is primarily used for the industrial and/or material handling settings. This type of analysis is commonly used for a multi-stationed environment. It is intended to analyze workflow, line productivity and maximize employee safety, through ergonomic adjustments to the work area.

Worksite Modification (Duration: (Based on 15-minute units)
The actual physical modification to the workstation or jobsite. This may be done immediately, or once the assessment has been completed and the ordered equipment has arrived and is installed. This procedure can range from simple chair adjustments and computer adjustments to the repositioning of major pieces of industrial equipment.

Work Task Analysis (Duration: Approximately 60-120 minutes)
A comprehensive analysis of the physical requirements of a certain job function: bending, lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling and positional requirements. This type of assessment is typically performed in an industrial and/or material-handling environment. Ergonomic recommendations may or may not be recommended based upon this analysis.

Back Education Presentations
Presentation on the proper use of body mechanics, proper posture and methods of preventing the occurrence of back injuries. Presentations will be supported with literature and AV aids. Presentations will be tailored to the various group job functions, (i.e. office, industrial and material handling functions).
