Drug Test Collection and Processing Safeguards

The following specimen collection safeguards are employed:

- A single toilet rest room is used without access to free running water.

- Dye is placed in the toilet water.

- Soap or other possible contaminants are removed from rest room.

- Specimen temperature and volume are verified to be within approved limits.

- Collector performs only one collection at a time.

- Specimens are sealed in tamper-evident containers.

- The specimen never leaves sight or possession of the donor until all paperwork is  completed and  the   specimen  is sealed.

- A specimen chain of custody is maintained at all times.

- The same collector follows the collection procedure to completion.

- Specimens are transported to the laboratory by a secure courier the  same day of   collection.

- Split sample collections are performed for Federal DOT/SAMHSA tests.

- All documents and specimens are to be enclosed in the tamper proof shipping envelopes.
